Dr. Ramesh is a Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School, Co-director of Mass. General Neuroscience in Neurology and an Associate Geneticist in Neurology at MGH. She obtained her Ph.D. from University of Madras, India and completed postdoctoral training in the laboratories of James Gusella (MGH) and Dr. Vivian Shih (MGH). She is a faculty member of the Center for Genomic Medicine at MGH.
Ramesh laboratory has been investigating the pathophysiology of Neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2) and Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) for more than two decades. Her lab employs molecular, genetic, cell signaling and drug screening approaches in disease-relevant human cells as preclinical models to discover pathways and drug targets. Her laboratory work has led to clinical trials with Dr. Scot Plotkin (MGH) for NF2-associated and sporadic meningioma.
