Ravi I. Thadhani, M.D., MPH, was appointed Chief Academic Officer at Partners HealthCare in November 2019. He is also a Professor of Medicine and Academic Dean at Harvard Medicine School. Previously, he served as Vice Dean of Research and Graduate Research Education at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles (2017-2019), Associate Director of Research at Partners HealthCare (2012-2017), Chief of Nephrology at Massachusetts General Hospital (2013-2017). At Partners HealthCare, he served as the Associate Director of Research from 2012-2017 and Executive Director of the Clinical Trials Office at Partners HealthCare (2015-2017).
In his role as CAO, Dr. Thadhani oversees a $1.8B research enterprise, graduate medical education and continuing professional development for Partners HealthCare. He also serves as HMS Faculty Dean for Academic Programs at Partners, chairing the Partners Committee on Senior Appointments and serving on the Council of Academic Deans. As a member of the CEO’s executive leadership team, Dr. Thadhani will also work together with senior leadership across the system on a number of system strategic initiatives.
Dr. Thadhani received a bachelor’s degree from University of Notre Dame, a medical degree from University of Pennsylvania and master’s in public health in Epidemiology degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
