Nick Leschly is the chief kairos officer at 2Seventy Bio. Before that, he served as the chief bluebird of bluebird bio, Inc., a publicly-traded clinical-stage biotechnology company, since September 2010. Formerly a founding partner of Third Rock Ventures, L.P. since 2007, Mr. Leschly played an integral role in the overall formation, development, and business strategy of several of Third Rock’s portfolio companies, including Agios Pharmaceuticals. Before joining Third Rock, he worked at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (now a subsidiary of Takeda), leading several early-stage drug development programs and serving as the product and alliance leader for VELCADE®. He received his B.S. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and his M.B.A. from Wharton Business School. He also serves on the advisory boards for Princeton University Molecular Biology Department and the Special Olympics of Massachusetts. The Board has concluded that Mr. Leschly possesses specific attributes that qualify him to serve as a member of our Board, including his experience in the venture capital industry and drug research and development.
