Dr. Rachel Whooten is a pediatric endocrinologist and health services researcher within the Department of Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital. She provides clinical care for children with diabetes, obesity, growth and pubertal disorders, and other general endocrine conditions. She has a strong research interest in preventive medicine, specifically related to the endocrine complications of childhood obesity. She graduated from Williams College and Boston University School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at University of California, San Francisco. She completed her clinical and research fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinologist at MGH, as well as a fellowship at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and completion of a Master’s in Public Health at the Harvard School of Public Health. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at MGH/Harvard Medical School and has active NIH funding for healthy lifestyle promotion among young females.
