Jennifer Warner-Schmidt, PhD, is the Vice President of Scientific Affairs at Transcend Therapeutics, a company developing rapid-acting treatments for neuropsychiatric diseases. She has led Transcend’s nonclinical discovery program since joining the team in 2022.
Jennifer has spent her career studying the underlying pathophysiology and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders. She is a neuroscientist with over 25 years of experience at leading research institutions. In 2016, she founded a consulting company offering strategic scientific services to small biotech and academic research groups. She then led preclinical research and development at Magnolia Neurosciences before her current role at Transcend.

Jennifer earned her B.S. in systems neuroscience from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her Ph.D. in neuroscience from Yale University, followed by post-doctoral training at the Rockefeller University where she won a NARSAD Young Investigator Award. Her laboratory research training focused mainly on mechanisms underlying depression and its treatment in the laboratories of the late Drs. Ronald Duman and Paul Greengard. She has published 30 papers and is a co-inventor on 2 U.S. patents.
