Dr. Kann is Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School and clinical faculty at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is a graduate of Tufts University School of Engineering with degrees in electrical and biomedical engineering. He received his M.D. from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed residency in Radiation Oncology at Yale School of Medicine. His research is focused on the development and application of machine learning and deep neural networks for cancer imaging analysis and the development of digital biomarkers to predict clinical outcomes. He is interested in developing artificial intelligence tools that can cross the “translation gap” to improve decision-making for clinical cancer care. His work has been funded by the NIH, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group-American College of Radiology Imaging Network, Radiological Society of North America, and St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
