2027 Event SiteHarold Lee moderated a conversation with Tal Liani, Jane Moran and Julia Strandberg about the other side of healthcare's AI transformation: the security and privacy infrastructure required before increasingly connected and autonomous technologies can be trusted at scale.
Liani focused on the rise of agentic AI. Software is beginning to act on behalf of users rather than provide information, which means AI agents may need credentials, system access and permission to complete transactions. Those capabilities also create a new attack surface.
Moran brought the question inside the health system. As agents begin communicating with other agents and clinical systems, organizations will need to define what they are authorized to do, monitor their behavior and detect when something changes. Strandberg added the connected-care perspective, where security and privacy have to extend across devices and settings rather than stop at the hospital wall.
The cybersecurity architecture is evolving in response. The panel expects continued movement away from collections of isolated tools and toward broader platforms that connect identity, endpoints and data protection.
