Philip Marshall, MD, MPH is the co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Conversa, “Healthcare’s Conversation Platform” that keeps care teams and patients connected between visits using Conversational AI.
Dr. Marshall has always had a passion for helping patients be equal partners in their care. Before Conversa Health, Dr. Marshall led product strategy and product management for Press Ganey serving over 2,000 hospitals, 650+ medical practices and 90,000+ physicians in the U.S. Also, he contributed to the Markle Common Framework for Networked Personal Health Information establishing technology and policy practices for the appropriate handling of personal health information. Throughout his career, he has designed profile-driven systems to ensure that patients are engaged digitally with employers, payers, and their providers.
Following his work at GE Medical Systems and Kaiser Permanente, where he led large research studies on physicians’ and patients’ use of Electronic Health Records, Dr. Marshall was one of the early pioneers at WebMD. As WebMD’s Vice President of Product Strategy, he led personalized health management solutions. He then led Press Ganey’s products and strategy, supporting the company’s expansion of quality and patient experience solutions.
Dr. Marshall received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, and has residency training in general surgery and public health and preventive medicine. He currently resides in Portland, Oregon.
