Michael Reitermann was appointed Chief Operating Officer and a member of Executive Management for Siemens Healthcare, now Siemens Healthineers, in October 2015. He is responsible for the Laboratory Diagnostics, Point of Care Diagnostics, and Services Business Areas and the North America, Latin America, and Asia Pacific regions within Siemens Healthineers.
Michael’s passion for science and technology has driven his career with Siemens. Prior to his current position, he was the CEO of the Diagnostics Division, beginning in May 2010. Earlier in his career, he was responsible for the U.S. imaging organization and served as CEO of the Siemens Molecular Imaging Business Unit. During his tenure, he drove the acquisition of CTI Molecular Imaging, Inc. and launched the Symbia® and Biograph® mCT product lines. Michael started his career at Siemens Healthcare in the Angiography and X-Ray Business Unit, where he was responsible for marketing and innovation. He originally joined Siemens in its Management Consulting group.
Michael earned a graduate degree in industrial engineering from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of British Columbia, Canada. Based in Tarrytown, NY, he serves on the board of AdvaMedDX and the Siemens Foundation in the U.S.
