Dr. Bharti Khurana is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and the Clinical Director for Emergency Musculoskeletal Radiology at Brigham Health. She is considered a leading expert in the field of imaging of orthopedic trauma and was recognized with several awards from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), including prestigious Magna Cum Laude and RSNA Honored Educator awards. Dr. Khurana is passionate about trauma imaging, providing meaningful imaging interpretations by radiologists, and developing machine learning algorithms for injury detection. She believes in harnessing the power of artificial intelligence for radiologists to move beyond clinical diagnosis, collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams, improve overall health outcomes and be an agent of social change. Her novel and innovative work on detecting victims of intimate partner violence using radiology and machine learning has received numerous accolades from various medical and violence prevention organizations. Dr. Khurana graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, India and she completed her radiology residency and musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
